Design Alfredo Häberli

Empire is a classic: a slim bookcase for storing books and exhibiting objects. Alfredo Häberli designed it as a very small bookshelf for corridors, bedrooms or corners — almost inconspicuous, yet a vertical sculpture full of books.

Its changing contours give Empire a fascinating graphic presence. One could characterize it as a furniture sculpture; Le Figaro described it as ‘design pur’. Beautiful as a single object when carefully lit, or as two placed side by side.

Published worldwide and exhibited at Museum für Gestaltung Zürich and Kölnischer Kunstverein Cologne.
